Legal services to get you on the right path.

Schweda Law offers two fee structures. Workplace investigations and some complex files are billed on an hourly basis. For other matters, Jacob offers fixed-fee billing. This provides predictability to clients for each step in a file. To improve access to justice and affordability, Jacob also provides limited-scope services, meaning that a client can choose which steps they want legal assistance with, and which steps they feel comfortable taking on their own.

  • Workplace investigations are billed at an hourly rate of $265.

  • Employment contract review and consultation: $265

Severance/termination offer review and consultation: $300

  • Privacy consultation: $265

Drafting privacy complaint under PIPA, FOIPPA, the Privacy Act, or PIPEDA: $300

  • Consultation on discrimination law: $265

Drafting a complaint to the Alberta Human Rights Commission: $300

  • Consultation about a board, tribunal, or commission decision: $265

Drafting appeal documents to a board, tribunal or commission (including the Social Security Tribunal, WCB Appeals Commission, or the Delegate of the Alberta Human Rights Commission): $300

Schweda Law can offer reduced fees for lower-income clients, using a “low bono” approach.
